Teams

Six teams carry out the work of the sangha

Education Team

Develops an annual schedule of online and in-person courses and retreats that provide members with rich opportunities to deepen their knowledge of the Dharma, and connect with others in the Benicia Sangha community.

Teacher Recruitment Team

Identifies, recruits, and retains meditation teachers who will provide the Sangha with spiritual guidance and inspiration while also seeking to diversify our teacher roster to be more representative of the larger community.

Communications Team

Provides information on BIM activities and facilitates a strategy for sharing Buddhist teachings and inspiration to both current members of BIM and the community at large.

Nominating Committee

Provides qualified and skilled nominees to the Steering Committee to ensure uninterrupted functioning of its committees, teams, and specialized leadership.

Finance Team

Provides monitoring of BIM’s overall budget and funding sources; oversee all aspects of payables and receivables; reviewing and maintaining bank statements, and reserves; and administering monthly and yearly reporting of expenditures and income to meet the transparency goals of BIM membership.

House Team

Establishes and implements a system to involve a range of members in setting up and closing down the Sangha and ensuring that the necessary supplies are ordered and always available.
